We’re delighted to announce David Pilling is joining R&BS and will improve our personal service capabilities in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, and Northamptonshire.
David’s agricultural banking, business development and credit expertise make him a perfect fit for the R&BS team in an area of the country where we haven’t previously had a local member of staff to easily visit and support our clients and their professional advisors. Outside of the office, David is a semi-professional football referee.
He brings brilliant banking insight
David has 12 years of experience in banking including nine years as an Agricultural Relationship Manager with Barclays, where he supported over 200 farming and rural clients with finance for growth and diversification. His excellent customer service skills led him to be one of very few managers to receive 100% client satisfaction feedback (net promoter score) in Barclays client surveys.
He then spent three years with the RBS group as a Business Development Manager in NatWest’s business and commercial division, and more recently as an Associate Director for Credit Delivery. Here he structured and approved deals for clients, which gives him a brilliant insight into how a bank underwriter thinks and what they are looking for in lending applications – and so he’ll be able to create spot-on applications for our clients to help them maximise their success.
He was also responsible for the fulfilment of deals after they had been sanctioned, which included liaising with valuers and solicitors to ensure the clients got their money as and when they needed it. This is another important aspect of our work at R&BS.
“I’ve known and worked with R&BS throughout my banking career and have always been impressed with their high level of service – something I believe is missing in much of today’s banking industry.
Their practice of offering clients the best choice of lenders and lending options from the whole finance marketplace is something I couldn’t do working in one bank. So, I'm really looking forward to finding my clients the best finance packages available, tailored to their unique needs, and saving them time, money and stress in their quest to make their business dreams a reality.”
When he’s not working…
David’s referee duties see him spending most of his Saturdays in the season travelling to matches from as far apart as Southampton, Bristol and the Midlands. During the summer months, he plays cricket for his local 1st team and enjoys coaching the local Under 15 side. Combining that with the family routines of Dad’s taxi service, he’s kept busy with the demands of a young family.
David plans on running the London Landmarks half marathon in March '20 in aid of Get Kids Going. The charity supports disabled children to get in to sport and provides equipment to allow them to continue to participate. Some of the children the charity has supported have gone on to represent GB at World Championships.
